PRIOR TO STARTING

  • Notify our staff if you have Thrombocytopenia, also known as a low platelet count.
  • Notify our staff if you have any sensitivity to preservatives found in over-the-counter eye drops.
  • Limit the use of NSAIDs, (Aspirin, Celebrex, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Indocin), within 48 hours prior to the procedure.
  • Drink plenty of fluids the night prior to the procedure.
  • Limit your caffeine intake prior to the procedure.

1. OBTAIN PRESCRIPTION

Meet with your optometrist/opthalmologist to discuss your treatment plan and get a written prescription.

2. LACRIMER CONSULTATION

Meet with one of our specialists to discuss the process and your unique condition.

3. BLOOD DRAW

A small volume of blood is drawn in our office at the time of procedure.

4. PREPARATION

The platelets are concentrated via centrifugation.

5. PRP OR SERUM IS PROCESSED

Your custom PRP serum eye drops are prepared using aseptic technique in a sterile hood.
